Brie de Meaux, named after the town of Meaux, is in the region of Brie in Ile de France, located 50 kilometres to the east of Paris. Awarded ‘The King of Cheese’ in 1814 by Talleyrand, the renowned French politician, Brie is a 3kg round cheese with a velvety bloomy rind. Its soft, straw coloured, creamy paste delivers a great combination of hazelnut and yeasty flavours, with a delicious hint of mushrooms.
